This is a custom seat kid I am installing in my MGB.

Base seat is a Britax Parkway (30-100lbs)with assorted hardware from a Britax Regent. We have Britax seats in our regular vehicles so the harness will not feel different to our kids.

I added one additional ratchet strap around the bottom of the seat to hold the center buckle.

All original seat belt anchor points were used.

I used the top half of a SPARCO 3 point harness that I bought on Ebay and some race seat latch and hook hardware from JEGS.

The orginal seat belts are still in place and can be used in addition to these.

The wife says it looks safer than the regular seat but would like me to add a roll bar. She would also like me to finish all the projects around the house, paint a room or two and take a month long vacation to Europe.

Can't wait to see how she will react to the 4 seat TR3 that is lurking in the way back of the garage.

Looks nice.

Not sure how old your kids are, but I let my 8yr old sit belted in a regular 3-point seatbelt (new ones from Securon).

Instead of a car seat, my son wears a Snell-rated child motorcycle helmet. Just my opinion, but in an open LBC, a helmet is *far* more important than a child seat.

He loves it, the passing cars love it; we get alot of honks.

hmmmmm....may need to get your plans so I can bolt my 15-month old grandson in one of my MG's & take him for a top down spin!!

I take my 9 month old out all the time in the B using the regular car seat attached with the seatbelt. He loves it, until he won't keep his hat on!

That's quite a child seat. Makes the one I used yesterday look like a pile of phonebooks.
