Does an MGA tach drive off the rear of the generator like the T series? PJ
 
No.
It drives off the back of the cam like an MGB 3 main.
 
Thanks Bill, Just compiling information in case I need to rebuild the generator on the TF. Always looking for cross reference parts. PJ
 
To further Bill's post, the tach from MGA 57-62 is the same Jaeger unit used in MGB 62-64. They changed to Smith's electronic tachs in late '64 with the introduction of the 5-main engine.
