MGA MGA Radio Installation

Need some advise. I would like to install a modern cd/am/fm radio in my MGA. Will the modern units fit into the opening in the dash? What is needed to fit one of these units into the old girl? Some mentioned that I might need an "installation kit", whatever that is.

Suggestions on what brand, type of unit to purchase would be usefull.

got an old bakelite 6v motarola/hmv valve radio i wouldnt mind installing so i watch this with interest

Ray - I don't know about the physical requirements for the radio installation in a MGA, but the first thing you need to do is to make sure the car is converted to negative ground. I don't know of any modern automotive radio/cd units that are dual polarity and trying to isolate a negative ground electronic unit in a positive ground vehicle is an invation for disaster.

zblu - You will need some kind of a 12 to 6 volt converter that has a relatively high current capacity if you are going to use a valve radio.
Cheers,
