Hi Folks. Getting closer on the MGA Coupe. Along the way, I have converted from disc to 60-spoke w/w. Would love to hear what radial tire sizes people are using on their MGA's.
I'm running 165 x 15 on the same spoke # wire wheels as you. They are pretty close to the old non-radial tire which, as I recall, was 5.90 x 15.
I understand you can go all the way up to 185 x 15 and still be ok, clearence wise, but 185's could be impossible to find. Try Coker Tire if you want 185's.
Mine are on my 1957 MGA. They do look puny, but the 5.90's were even smaller, at least across the tread.
Look around for the 185's, a little more tire wouldn't hurt.
