Hi -

I'm helping a friend with a '59 MGA that was, at sometime in its former life, fitted with an MGB RHD steering rack. It doesn't fit well to say the least and needs to be taken out for safety reasons.

We have a line on a RHD TD steering rack and we were wondering if that will fit in an MGA without too much bother?

Alternatively, if any of you have a spare MGA RHD rack, that would be great to know.

Thanks!!!

Alan - I don't think that he TD steering rack will fit a MGA, but I'm not an authority on that. You might want to post your question on the MG Cars Enthusiast's Club at: https://www.mgcars.org.uk/index.html Click on Bulletin Boards, then on the T series TD-TF to reach the people who know the T series cars very well. You might also want to post the query on the MGA BBS to reach more people who know the MGAs.
Cheers,

I have a right hand drive rack that came with my MGA in one of the many boxes of parts. How can I tell if it is indeed an MGA rack? I can post a picture later if that will help. If it is, then I will be happy to part with it.

For some reason I had remembered the seller of my car saying it was a right hand drive rack (and thinking to myself what was I going to do with that) but on closer inspection it turns out to be a lefty. Sorry.
