MGA MGA Jump Start

I need to jump start my MGA but I don't know which battery is positive or negative. i still have the two 6 volts batteries.
Let me know.

Look for the positive terminal on the battery that does NOT connect the 2 batteries together. That will be the + and the other terminal that is not connecting the batteries together should be the negative (-) terminal. Bob

I recommend whenever you are jumpstarting, try to hook up the negative cable first to an engine component, bracket, or something similar. Then, with the key off, hook up the positive. Positive is alwasy going to be the larger of the battery terminals(posted batteries)...

Now if it is a positive ground car, just reverse above instructions, positive to engine component. Negative to battery, but still remember the positive terminal will be larger than the negative.

And do make sure that your bumper isn't touching the bumper of the car you are jumping it off, if the other car isn't also positive ground.

Don't ask me how I know this (and no, it wasn't me that welded bumpers, but I was there to watch and laugh).
