MGA MGA Coupe needs yankee ingenuity

Tony, aw shucks, I thought it was 'de FEET' that builds character! At least the little MGA has character already built in it.
Andy, I have the same problem in my 1976 jeep CJ5. The floor boards and firewall would literally get so hot it would burn your hands, thanks to the catalytic converter located right under my feet. I ended up putting this fiberglass aluminum foil 'space age' material underneath my floorboards and installed carpet as well. Those 2 items helped quite a bit, however I still need to deal with the firewall someday. Of course in the jeep with the soft top installed it is sometimes frustrating because the door windows have to be zipped all of the way up or all the way down, otherwise the window flops outside. So when the window is up it gets too hot, whe the window is down its too cold. I too wish I had extra ventilation in my jeep similar to the ones used in the old Toyota LandCruiser. Those are opened by kicking the vents open with your foot.
Anyways, I guess this MGA is going to need a little more yankee ingenuity afterall!

Peter Joe; I've been driving an A for some time. Am 6'4 and have size 15 feet. Tony can vouch for that. The toe thing works quite well for me. But then, my A is a roadster. A lot easier to mount & dissmount than a coup'e. I'm sure that good old yankee ingenuety will solve the problem.

Kurt, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hi, i'm also restoring an MGA Coupe 1960 for little more than a year now. I'm 6'-3 '' and will probably not fit in it as i can read, I always said that it's better Tight than Loose but as i can see, sometimes too tight does not help at all. I have'nt installed my seats back into the car yet, i just finished installing the floor boards and was just beginning to feel how small it was going to be. Good thing my feet are only size 11, that might save the project and my mental health.

Cheers

Jean Marc
