This is a 57 MGA Coupe I just bought from my friend Richard. He'd owned it since 1966. He drove it until 1972 and stuck it in the back of his building which housed the Grawn MI. US Post Office. He moved to the Bahamas to live on his sailboat in 1979 and hasn't been back since. It took me awhile to track him down but he was no match for my persistence! Other than a couple frozen wheels its completely unmolested.

What a great find!

What are your plans for it?
 
Both the driver's side wheels were stuck. It seems the shoes had rusted to their drums. Now the car at least rolls. It was a bear to drag it out of the building and slide it to the car hauler. All of the debris from the falling down ceiling panels and crap didn't seem to hurt the body but I'm keeping from cleaning it up cause it looks cool like it is. I've got oil in the cylinders hoping to free up the pistons. Now at least I can rock the car back and forth. I do have other projects ( TR3) but if the engine frees up soon perhaps I'll try and start it. It has every indication that it was running when parked so I'm optimistic. The tires hold air and the only rubber that is dried out on the car are the windscreen and rear glass and the boot lid seal. The interior is a very nice red/ white which is original . The carpet has been changed. When we dragged it out a neighbor lady came over and told me she'd always wondered what was inside that building as she'd never seen anybody in there since she'd lived there ( 41 yrs.).

That's going to be a great project, do keep us in the loop when you get started on it.
