MGA MGA Big Bore Exhaust.

I am hoping to fit a big bore exhaust to the MGA when I fit the 1800 and five speed.

I've been reading the Peter burgess book, I dont really see the need for a tubular manifold to get what I want, when I look on some of the websites I only see big bores that fit onto tubular manifolds?

Does anyone (UK) sell a big bore single box system that fits onto the cast manifold?

I've found a 1.75" single box system to be more than adequate for my MGA with an 1800. I'm using stock header and down pipe with a stainless Falcon system. Next time I will more than likely go with aluminized steel.
 
The MGA exhaust manifold is itself a bit of a bottleneck compared to the MGB, which is actually pretty good.

You can use the MGB but have to go through all sorts of contortions to get it to clear the steering column on a LHD car.

I agree with Steve - a 1 3/4" system is fine for street and youc can just make up a downpipe from the stock manifold to mate with your after market system.
 
Its a RHD drive car so lots of room for manifold and down pipe.

What is the standard bore?

According to Peter Burgess book the MGA manifold gives a little more mid range but loses nothing at high RPM over the MGB cast manifold, hence I would like to put a big bore onto that! Wouldnt hurt if it made a little more noise either!
