maybe not the most favored of vehicles here but I kinda like it...anyway..been about 26 years since I had one of these...what I would like to know is if anyone has a catalog for this car? I know so many of these parts will interchange between the LBC family but I just not privy to that info..front and rear glass seals, vent and door seals etc etc is prime concerns...any points in the right direction would be most appreciated...thanks
 
Most of the Mini places have lots of parts for the MG1100/Austin America.
Try Mini Mania, Mini City and Mini Seven

Don't feel bad at all.I love the "underdog" cars,
Tony had at least one of them (& there may be more-
parts that go with them).

For the seals and weatherstripping, MacGregor <span style="font-style: italic">has it by the foot.

EDIT: CALL MacGregor, tell him what you've got. He worked at Abingdon back in the '60's and knows what went into most of the cars. The seals for the front and rear glass are the same extrusion used on about EVERY LBC of the period. The door seals too. </span>

X-2- You can't beat MacGregor's quality and their products are as close to the original design as you can get! Met him back in 06 at Gatlinburg, very nice fellow, a true gentleman! PJ

Yep, Tony did indedd have on of them, and I saw it last weekend when i wnet down to ge4t Tony's GT race car, it will be part of the auction on Oct. 22nd in Gurley Alabama (right outside Huntville, AL.) It looked to be a solid example.
 
WOW - "bigaadams" - Welcome to the BCF! Registered in March, '04, and just now posting - must be a record! :jester:

And, yes, Tony's collection includes a VERY nice '63 1100, along with several engine blocks, trannies, and who knows what else. The 1100 was the object of a long search, and includes a trick bonnet with big plexiglass insert to view the engine. Undoubtedly for the dealer showroom, but the "real" bonnet is included as well.

Watch for more details about the auction to be posted soon.

yeah...I have not been working on any British stuff of late..just been filling up the barn banking against the day I retire..I have been very heavily involved in a few domestic 40's/50's cars..I picked up this car very recently and remembered the fun I had with the one I owned 26 years ago..they say you can never go home, but never did they say you cannot relive the good ole days..these little cars can be loads of fun..and I hope that finding parts will not take the fun from this..we know its going to take the fund however...

MacGregor replied to my e-mail in a most positive manner and am thinking I may be okay getting my parts, however as he stated in his e-mail, his web page is out of date and nothing is listed for these cars though he has lots of stuff. Will smoke a call to him for certain..
