If I were rich and didn't live in the USA, I would buy one of these. Engine choices go up to 765 horsepower!

Check out the vidio.

I am not rich, and I live in the USA, so I'll probably never see one in person.

That's an interesting video. Cool Car! You're right, I'm sure we'll never see one on this side of the pond!

But what are they doing in that video? Either looks like something from the Matrix (Is that Trinty, with those long legs?

) or some type of crazy drug deal...

Well, I love MGs, even some of the new ones, but to me, that thing looks like the unholy offspring of a Mustang and Pontiac Grand Prix. It may have impressive capabilities, but the styling is at once derivative and overblown.

I showed the video to my high school students & asked for their reactions.."What is the ad saying?"

Bad ride
Drug Deal
I want that car
Drug Deal
Spies
Drug Deal
Sweet Legs
Drug Deal
Sexy
Drug Deal

...what's Rover trying to say?

So, Tony, what did your class say?

Guess I'm getting old - just don't "get" some of the new movies and ads. "The Matrix" only gave me a headache! Didn't bother with either of the sequels.

Still, it's an interesting looking car...

Just looked at your post again and realized what your class said! Drug deal, huh? Again, guess I'm getting old!

Overwhelming....after they talked about how 'bad' the car was, and & the guys talked about the long legs of the passenger, they all agreed there was a drug deal in the making & that was the story line! Maybe young people in the UK will see it differently but my kids didn't get the message Rover was trtying to send!

I don't see it as a drug deal. I think of drug deals as face-to-face encounters. I wouldn't think druggies would let the merchandize out of their hands until they see the money and vice versa. To me it says dead-drop.

The long dark coat look may have sprung into the US psyche with The Matrix but it's been a staple of spy movies for a long time. Since the spot is about a very fast car I would guess that they were thinking The Transporter when they made it.

Saw a picture of that car in the new issue of EVO. It looks fine in basic black. The green one they were showing earlier this year not so much so.

The XPower SV does sound great. But I too think it looks like the Mustang, but with fish gills.

While I don’t care much for the car, I took some time to check out the rest of the web page. I really liked the X-power Merchandise available and purchased a couple of t-shirts for my daughter & myself. Ought a look pretty cool at the next club meeting.

Yeah, its not very MG looking, kind of a bastard cross between a Mustang and an Austin Martin.

BUT 765 HORSEPOWER!

The NASCAR loving Texas Redneck in me can overlook a lot for 765 HORSEPOWER.
