T-Series MG TF, TD dashes

I have retired from the furniture business after 40+ years. Now I have started a small business making dashes for sports cars. I have successfully made many for Sunbeams and Studebakers. Last week I made an offer to Triumph owners on this site, that for the privlege of using a dash to make a template, I will give them a new dash of their choice. The responce was great and their dashes are getting done as we speak. I want to make the same offer to anyone who owns a TF or TD out there. I will give them a new dash (with a choice of finishes and veneers)and I will even pay for the shipping back. This will expand my inventory of templates and we will both be winners. I will be glad to send you pics of dashes that I have already done. Thanks, Gaston

Wanna do a Lotus Elan S-3? Mebbe a +2?

I am sending him stuff for a Bugeye one this week. Goodness knows mine is torn up.

lemme know how that turns out, huh?

I'll wait, Jack. Ain't sendin' my Elan dash off without more than what I've seen to this point...

Oh this not the dash guy, sorry, this the SS heat sheld guy.

"We don' need no steenkin' heet shield!" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I need a steenkin' heat shield and I thought a stainless one would really be spiffy.

"SEXY" would be a nicer description. Brushed SS and no worries about corrosion. THAT we wanna see photos of.

I already have a lotus dash coming, but not sure on the model. Why don't you check back with me in a week or so. I want to have a good inventory of templates. Turn around time is very fast, I have alot of time on my hands. You should see my brushed metal dashes! Gaston

Oh easy, try this www.The-Vintage-Racer.com

He has a pic of one for a tr4 there but I am going to send him an intake manifold and an old one so he can make a templet for Bugeyes.

Didn't see a pic for a metal dash. Does a bugeye have a wood dash? I manufacture in wood, aluminum and stainless. Gaston

Do you do TC dashes???I REALLY need one....but I can't supply a template cuz mines been cut up....D.P.O

No no, SS heat sheld for carbs. Somehow this got in wrong thread.

probably not....someone tried to convert it to a TD style set up with both speedo and tach on the same side
I do have the inner dash thou.....would that work?

Not sure. Do you have a pic of a complete one and perhaps with your inner dash and a pic, I could probably duplicate one.

I am going to pull the dash out of my TC in the near future but I doubt it would be worth shipping it 3K miles each way. Someone closer must have one you could get your hands on.

Also remember that the dash in T-Series cars is two pieces... the main dash and the center insert. My insert is going to Craig Seabrook for restoration. Some bone head painted it red! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

the centre insert is metal....mines fine, I just need the outer dash...I could cut out my own, it's not complicated and cover it in vinyl as per original for my later car....but I want to upgrade to a polished wood...I have a brand new MOSS innner dash, as far as I can tell it's the same general shape as the outer should be.
I do have some pics of dashes from cars I've seen at car shows.....I'll try to upload them(might take a while cuz my computer has troulble with pics)
