MG Skunk Works - PAGAN B gets some Jewelry!

Just little peek inside of some of the recent developments. I’ve decided to go ahead and pop the head on my 78B mainly because there are so many unknowns (compression ration & valve clearance) and have decided to go ahead and use the Aluminum head I’ve had sitting on the shelf for so long.

What you see is a rather pretty set of engine jewelry – consisting of an Aluminum Head, Heavy Duty Double Valve Springs & a set of 1.5:1 Alloy Roller Rockers. Granted there's still got some work to be done to the head and I've got a couple other “Top Secret” surprises in the works yet to be revealed.

FYI the Box the head is perched on is a hint to some of the other internals I’ll be upgrading too.

Again ultimate goal - fastest Kalifornia emissions legal MGB! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

In the APT Box?

A Fast Road Camshaft APT VP12-BM (~260-270), some lifters, and a double multi keyed timing chain set.

Nothing too radical - but I figure I should be able to attain a perfect indexing the camshaft to better compliment the Moss EFI kit.

But again those are the obvious changes. Believe me when I tell you that there are significant changes in the works that address the “weakest link” in the chain of the late model emissions B’s.

So, parts numbers are in order for everything: head, rockers, cam, guides, etc.....

I'll post what I can Tony.

Here's some of the major components:
The Head I got on eBay from Pierce Manifolds and has the air rail holes already in it. Not 100% sure - but looks (PN#?) identical to the one Moss sells.

The roller rockers are from Harland Sharp PN#11301 - also got them on eBay, and are mounted on a Tuftrided Rocker Shaft sold by Moss Motors (PN # 433-725).

That's it for now but some of the "top secret" items are going to be "one offs" so I will have to provide specific information at the time of unveiling. But mums the word for now. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

BTW Tony I sent you an email. Don't worry about the head Gasket kit but I would like to know your price for the ARP head Fasteners?

Thanks,

Very nice looking, hope it all goes together smoothly for you. Such clean, shiny parts, though I'm sure you can't wait to get them oily and see what they can do!
