MG: Present Day

Thanks all for the brief history lesson. I might pick up that MGB history book. Sounds like really interesting stuff.

And if you haven't seen the video, it really is pretty funny. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't know about that, my MGA is faster than my MGB! With a 3.9 rear end it can cruise at 80MPH all day.

OK...the glove has been thrown /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Will one of you west coast boys pick up the challenge and race your B against his A? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Interesting info there...I see your point, but disagree politely...the B Roadster is every bit a sportscar /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

I'd take on a B any day! But don't ask me to lift the hood. My 1500 is now 1800. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif A 1600 or 1622 would be competition for the B, but the early 1500 is a bit lacking in the power department.

I'll tell ya one thing though. An MGA with the same CC as an MGB is one fast car. On our local drives I drop just about everyone in all makes and models going up the canyons.

And I also agree that the MGB is a sports car, it's just a more modern one, designed with comfort and modern anemities in mind, as opposed to the purpose-built sports cars of the 30's and 40's. I wouldn't sell my B for any reasonable amount of money.

I had an MGA with an MGB engine - ran like stink...Jerri called it my rolling coffin

If I ever do an HSR car, it'll be an MGA coupe w/1800 3-main engine!

you guys are all wet....

REAL LBC's have their carbs on the passenger side.
