I have a '74 mg midget with a 1500 engine in it.
The engine ID # is FP17095UCE any idea what year it comes from?

That's a California engine,probably 1974/5.

Stuart.
Hi, I am helping a friend with her 74 MG Midget that supposedly has a 75 Midget engine. It needs an exhaust/intake gasket. Although what I find online doesn't look anything like the ports on the head. There is no ID plate on the block. Any other way to determine what it is? I have pics if that will help and found the code 11B on the left side of the block.
Thanks for any help!

Post a picture and we should be able to help ID the engine

Thank you in advance!

WAG: Austin/Morris/MG 1100cc. ??

Pretty sure that's a 1275 A-series engine, appropriate for a '74 Midget. The presence of the air injection ports on the heads is a pretty good indicator.

Not sure where you are, but Moss Motors or British Parts Northwest should have the manifold gasket:
> Manifolds & Heatshields - 1275 - Exhaust - MG Midget, Austin Healey Sprite | Moss Motors <

Moss part number is 296-630, used on all Sprites/Midgets that used the A-series engine.
Thank you. I'm in New England and I will try British Parts Northwest. I've already perused their site. Appreciate the guidance. Thanks again!
