MG Lifting Points

I was gonna put this post in the tools forum, but I might get more response here. I'm planning on a car lift for the garage and would like some input on which lift would be better for a MG (and a midget). The two lift patterns are:

If you have room for it, I would go for the wider one. That way your not restricted to smaller vehicles. The 101in wide is for 8 foot wide vehicles or less. As an example, A small 1 ton stake body truck is 8 foot wide. The feet on the lifts are adjustable for just about anything. JMHO. PJ

I was leaning towards the wider one, the differnce being the wider one has hydraulics on floor covered with plate and symetrical, the narrow one top hydraulics and asymetrical. Lift height is the same for both.
