Any Midgets going to MG2012 in Dillard GA this June?

Better get your Midget fixed, Phil, don't want to miss it. My wife is asking if there are any other "epic" sports car events we could attend this summer so I guess the heat of 'Midget 50' didn't get her down!! Might make it!

Kurt.

99% chance I am going. Only way I am not is if I don't piece her back together and I am doing a fine job so far. Relatives 30 min away. Long drive drom Cleveland, OH (including the WVa turnpike).

I'm getting the Midget back from the body shop today!!!
He straitened the frame rail ends and cut in the paint on the fenders and nose that I brought him.

I have an aluminum radiator, oil cooler, grill, etc on order. My new goal is the end of March so I can go the All British Car Show in Orlando.

I'm planning on going down with my '70 Midget. Got a few things to do before then - need some time to get them done.

You guys need to rally the Midget contingent and make a great showing. I'd be there if I could, but already have prior commitments. When I was at MG2006 there weren't too many Midgets, but we still had a great time!

Trevor,
Can the "prior commitments" and come on down.
I was counting on you to host a "Stop Inn" reunion
Phil
The 1st round is on me.

If there are enough midgets we can break out on our own a do some spirited runs through the hills. I know the NC side very well and Dillard is right on the border. I am no whre near where I thought I would be on my second midget so it will most likely be just the yellow one.

Sounds great.
Following a bunch of slow moving, poor handling B's around sounds boring.

Lots of "kiss your own butt" curves where light cars and short turning radius make all the difference. Plus we are much narrower so you can slide the rear a little bit and still be in the lane.

Any idea on how many cars overall will be here? I'm planning on driving 12+ hours and would be disappointed with a low turnout versus the 'locals'.

Cranking on all my last minute projects & shake down. Things are going well.

I'll be doing a engine rebuilding tech session on Friday at 10:30 am at the Dillard House. Then there on the show field Saturday vending for VTO and Acme Speed Shop.

My car passed re-build inspection yesterday!! So I'm defiantly almost there ;o]
I'm thinking about caravanning with a group from the Melbourne Florida area.
See you all in Dillard
Phil

Hey, George, what's wrong with the "locals"? Someone has to put on the show!
We're looking forward to a great event with lots to do to keep you busy. And, I hope we have a great Midget turnout. The last I heard, there were about 230 registrants and, historically, something like 40% more show up that don't pre-register, so could be 300 cars. Don't know how many of those are "locals", though. Hope to see you all there.
Jack

When I say "locals" I am referring to the local shows around my own city and without the 12+ hour drive.

Last I heard the pre-reg # was nearing 300. What prompted my question was my know it all brother-in-law stating (as gospel) that only 100 people have register for this show. He does NOT own a MG or any cool car. With that (erroneous) info I questioned whether it was worth the drive (again, Northern OH to North GA). Luckily he was completely wrong.

I am looking forward to meeting in person many of the folks I have corresponded over the years on this site.

Lastly and frankly, I am a little apprehensive of driving the car for that long. If I do break down - I can't just take it to any shop.

I am sorry it was taken the wrong way. Not my intent whatsoever.

George, the NAMGBR has a list of people and car repair shops that they publish every year to help people who break down or need help. I always carry my copy with me on long trips. I think someone on the forum has a copy they can down load if not pm me and I will send you my copy as I do not have to drive that far to the show. I am one of the "locals" LOL. I have been going to the Dillard car shows since 1992 and it has always been a great time so don't miss it.
