MG 2006 Spridget Gathering

Country flag
Offline
I've never attended an MG international meet, but I noticed that there is no official midget registry event scheduled. Has anyone attended an MG international before? Is there a means for the midget to organize themselves beforehand? There should be some nice twisty raods to enjoy in Gatlinburg, and I'd like to do it in company of some other midgets. (The B's and A's just slow you down and block the view.)

I hear you on the As & Bs /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
There is a Sprite gathering every 5 years, Sprite Spree 03 was the last, and 08 is the next. All A series powered cars are welcome, And Midgets are just Sprites with an added chrome stripe and we welcome them as much as Sprites.
My only beef with the organizer (and I helped organize it) was the shirts, hats, and bags, I felt they should have at least said Spridget Spree or Sprite/Midget Spree or something that represented both marques. But the shirts had a Sprite.
We had mass drives with 80+ Spridgets, autocross, rally, etc.
I would love an annual event like this.
I was in the Healey clubs but they tend to frown on Sprites,
I can't understand why either, I just got rid of my big Healey cause it was a real tractor on the road.
I think we need to get organized as our own group
SMOG (Sprite Midget Owners Group) and let the guys with the heavy Healeys and MGBeasts do their own thing while we do our own.

Hey Trevor

How does 318 curves in 13 miles sound. And that is the famous road, but we have many miles of lesser known curves here in Sevier County and surronding areas. I'm not sure what the organizers have planned but if you'all get in early, let me know and I'll show you some roads that will test your skills.

This is a great drive but can be dangerous on week ends.

If any of you guys wish to bring a bunch of Spridgets to any of our EMRA events, I guarantee that I can get all the cars out on the track for a "parade lap". And obviously, a road racing track is a great place to hang out if you're a sports car nut.
We've done it for other groups...we just need some advance notice. The EMRA schedule is winding down this year (I'm heading up to Watkins Glen tomorrow for our penultimate '05 event).
Look at our website ( www.emraracing.org ) so you can get an idea of the tracks we use. Our '06 race schedule should be up sometime around February. E-mail me if you want to organize something.
