General MG MG 1500 engine 4-91 or 4-110

Wonder if anyone knows what this means. In the Motors Manual, the Bible for Smog shops, it lists two different engine variations for the 1500 from 75 through 80. They are 4-91 and 4-110, both with the 1 bbl carb. Does anyone know what the 4-91, 4-110 means and how to tell which I have?

Thanks

4-91 = 4 cylinders 91 cubic inches

4-110 = 4 cylinder 110 inches,

So, your Midget has a 4-91 (91 cubic inches converts to 1491.22 cc)

a strange way to describe the engine for sure though.

Oh and you may want to post in the Spridget Forum (Sprite + Midget) The MGB etc guys are nice and all but are all about cubic inches and stuff.

:ROFLMAO:
