Thank you Chef Tush, Pictures do not do this car justice as to just how low it sits. The stance of this car is amazing. The rear valance metal work is done and is in primer and final black primer finish coat maybe by end of week. The owner will be out of town til sometime in august when it will be installed and I will be posting pictures of the back of this car. I am looking forward to that day as the owner is so excited about how the rear valance turned out. Only thing to make it better is to see it painted in black. Frank
 
I have finished the rear valance and it is installed. The car is just exactly the way my friend wants it to look, could not be happier.

Exhaust reinforcement bracket had to be removed in order to patch the original exhaust exit.

The exhaust on a 924/6 is in the center the original 914 had the exhaust exit a single pipe at the left.

The car owner had a grill that goes behind the rear window from another 914 that he wanted to use but I hated to cut an original grill to modify the rear valance so we had The grill scanned and laser cut so I have an exact copy of the grill and he still has the original. We could not find any expanded metal or perf metal that was even close. Next post for the conclusion.

The grill material also has a flange formed for a tight fit and is welded inside to the valance flange.

Sorry this picture does not give a good view of the finished valance but it will be back and I will get better pictures. The valance now covers the rear exhaust for a more finished look. Frank

Thank you !!! This started with the owner's vision of how he wanted the car to look. The project took on a life of it's own, and has rewarded me with great pleasure. Sometimes the planets align and the metal cooperates with you. This has been great fun. Frank
