Met Molly today

New Sprite spied at the local airplane/car show.
Her name is Molly.
Mix of cars was nice.
Voting was via donations in box at your car. For Meals on Wheels.
I had to leave early and dropped my box at the front, on
my way out.
Handed my box to a local politician I knew and made a point
of praising the democratic voting. Added " I really felt
great as I stuffed my box with MY donation". "Stuffing ballot boxes is American as apple pie." Sam laughed and agreed.

The kids all loved Screamin' Mimi and I let several sit at the wheel for pictures.

Several old timers had stories. One guy said when he was in Europe for military service he met the cutest girl who drove a Mk1. He said she was irresistible in the Sprite. Stuck a couple of bills in the vote box for her.....the girl of his dreams.
He was so glad to remember as he hadn't thought of her in ages!

All for a good cause.
Had a great but too brief time.

Cool pics.

The unincorporated small town I live in has a yearly race for Mayor. Candidates post jam jars at local business counters and residents make donations to their favorite person. The "votes" are counted and the new Mayor heads the annual 4th of July parade. All proceeds are used for the kids in the park celebration after the parade.

So we can boast we have the best Mayor money can buy!

David, did you see Fred there?

We passed as I was heading out and he and Russ were
heading in. They had been to some plowing event thing along
the way there.
Fred's Midget looks nice. I didn't get a pic.
I had to get home to help with Mom.

Some neat stuff. The Corvair next to me was awesome.
Pale yellow...SURVIVOR..4 carbs with a 4 speed box.
Red '66 GTO was one I liked. Monster motor. Old memories.
Mine was blue. (sigh)
Restored FJ40 Land Cruiser was pretty neat too.

Hi David,

I mentioned to Fred that You would be in Your Glory when you saw the FJ40 Land Cruiser! That "Corvair" was pretty darn nice. Its what they called a "Corvair Corsa" (180HP)!!

Molly & the Morgans were gone when Fred & I got there. One of my favorites was the "Silver `63 Vette". Too bad it was an "Automatic". Must be Lady owned?

When are we going to have a "Brit Car Show" by some lake or park setting or something like that? Hey David, How about at Your House!

Regards, Russ

Russ, we have The Great Scot British Car Show at Furman, if that isn't a awesome setting for a car show, I don't know what is, it is ran in conjunction with the Greenville Scotish games at the end of May, beauty queens, lot of Brit cars, guys in kilts (including David I hear ), and wait for it, wait for it, the very first visit to the upstate of SC by one of the royal family.

Howdy Hap,

I can`t wait for that one! I hope my TR will be on the road (LOC). Heck, Even if its 1/2 complete; I`ll be driving down there!!

See Y`All Later,

Russ
