Just wishing all of you in Nemo's path good luck. It looks as though this storm is going to rival that of '78.

Thanks Judy. We're in the area for the >2 feet with 5 foot drifts. We expect the power, cell and cable to be lost, and the governor will probably close the highways. Got the generator set up, fuel tanks full, granola and cranberry juice all ready to go.

Can't decide if I should leave the snow blower in the shed, then have to shovel a path for it. Or leave it outside under a tarp.

Decisions, decisions.

I remember the '78 blizzard well. I was 6, and had some friends staying over who got snowed in with us for a couple days. As a little kid it was wonderful!

Y'all keep warm and safe up there.
 
I have the snow blower in the garage and two generators all set to go (just tested them).
Lots of spare water and 15 gallons of gas in our garden shed.

Therefore, we'll probably get nothing. :wink-new:

(but it ~is~ snowing here aleady)

I recall 78 as well. Was in college and we were the only school still open through it so I was trudging to classes during the worst. Then when it was over I shoveled out the car and when I opened the hood all I could see was the top of the air cleaner and a lot of white with an imprint of the inside of the hood. Took a weekend of work to get it all cleaned out and thawed out to run...

Good luck to the guys living in the path of this one.

That '78 winter was what convinced me I needed a radical change of latitude. Took two years to get it all worked out but "snow" is no longer a real concern to us.

Y'all keep yer heads "up there"!!! Stay safe, keep warm, hunker down.
