Watching live - from Iowa.

There was a Spitfire; they repeatedly ID'ed it as a TR6.

Then just now, describing a '77 MGB, they said it had the 1800 engine, not the 1500 that B's came with at the beginning of the run.

SHEESH! No wonder LBC's get no respect! :wall:

They ought to be able to identify a Spitfire. But I thought <span style="font-style: italic">all</span> MGB's had an 1800cc engine.

Plenty of precedent though, for errors in TV LBC-related commentary. I still have Brock Yates on a VCR recording from Speed Channel describing a Lotus Elan as having a "Coventry Climax" engine.
 
OK - not to pick on them, but they just displayed a logo: "Celebrating 25 years 1988-2012"

Came across this mistake a few years ago, spotted this car...

A 1959 Standard Vanguard wagon... Discovered that it was about to be auctioned off at a local classic car auction... Going to their website I searched for a Standard Vanguard, didn't find one, but I did find a <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">Borgward</span></span> Vanguard! :lol: Now how do you get that one wrong...

The same outfit also once listed a 1954 Ford Consul for auction, it turned out to be a Consul Mk 2 (the Mark 2 was introduced in 1957), one guy told a story about how it came out of a convent, I told them that it couldn't be a 1954 Consul, next auction it was still listed as a 1954... :nuts:
