What is the go-to mechanical switch to use instead of the original hydraulic switch? My mechanical switch has gone bad after several years and it was a Watson brand switch.

There are many listed on the net. I use the Watson #L08. The first lasted 12yrs., second one has been operating since 2020, 6yrs.

LED lights don't take as much current, so they don't put as much load on the switch. Incandescent lights might overload the switch.
Thanks for the explanation. I’ll go with the Watson L08. It lasted several years and a plus is that as soon as I touch the brake pedal it lights up with far less pressure than my original switch.
