Hello,

I’m looking for a great Triumph wrench in the Charlotte and or Rock Hill SC area. Can anyone recommend someone?

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the Vintage Triumph Register for helpers in each state? They are there for travelers assistance and breakdowns and I'm sure they can offer advice as to who is a great wrench.

I know of High Point Imports, in High Point, NC. Not exactly Charlotte, but close. He pretty much does everything.

Tim Corby of Corby's British Cars in Charlotte. (704) 568-9922. Tell him Dave Rushing sent you.

What do you need? The local triumph club, TCOC, has lots of experts with many degrees of expertise (...mine being well below the rest /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) www.triumphclub.org. Or shoot me an email, and I can get you in touch with the experts smarter than I.

Re: Mechanic needed: Charlotte and / or Rock Hill

There are some good car clubs in the Charlotte area that could probably help out. One is MG though. A guy named Bob White is in Charlotte and does great work, but he may be more into restorations. He is very active in the MG club, but has now come over to the dark side. Unfortunately I don't know where he works.

I recently met a young fellow from Shelby, NC that has a shop just north of downtown. He brought an MGB he had put a FI Rover engine in and he had done a super job. Has a cute wife to boot. I will look for his card. I can't recall the business name (is this a reoccurring theme?).

I am a past member of the Triumph Club of the Carolinas and am a current member of the Metrolina MG Car club. If I have a british car issue that I can't handle or don't feel like handling (which is rare) I call Tim Corby. Many others in both local clubs do the same. Bob White is a member of both clubs. He does not generally work on other people's cars, but can be of assistance in helping you diagnose a problem. FWIW, I'd be glad to help you with your problem if you send me a PM on here.

Thanks so much all. This is actually for my uncle (not all that interested in turning wrenches any more), who lives a <little> too far away from me (in Denver) to wrench for him! I'll pass the info along to him!

Thanks again.
