Talking of Yosemite had the good fortune to visit from the uk in 2016 and couldn’t get over the scale of the place. Amazing place

Many years ago I surprised my wife for our anniversary.
I made hard to get reservations to stay at the Awanee Hotel.
Lots of snow and we were avid X-country skiers.
A different X-country trip was to stay at a magnificent cabin at Glacier point overlooking the Yosemite valley.
Now just the thought of putting on skis scares the begessus out of me.

I stayed there with my Ex years ago. She looked at the map and suggested a couple of mile short hike. I took her out to the balcony and pointed up about 5,000 feet to Glacier Point: "That's the other end of the trail."

We walked up the river North of the lodge, then found out that
we couldn't cross it,so we walked back.
By special reservation only.
We were lucky.

And that sign is important, as these creatures are everywhere! (I took this picture just a minute or so after the one above it.)
