Maybe we should have an interesting sign thread

Not denying that. Reminds me of Howard Stern with Air Florida. I lived in the area at that time. Never listened to Stern after that, though he left station DC101 soon after.

I was listening to his show live when the Air Florida plane went down. Like you I stopped listening to him from that moment on.

Reminds me of a young guy cashier at a local gas station. Went in and got a Coke, handed him $10. He puts in some numbers in the register, then I hear "Uh Oh". I ask what is it?? He says
you gave me a 10, I accidentally put in 20". I said that's ok, you keep $10 of the change listed and it balances. His response was that he can't do that, he needed to figure it out for himself. I asked why and he told me I might be trying to cheat him out of money. So out comes the paper and pen and phone calculator. Spends 3-4 minutes working through it, writing down, crossing out, and finally comes up with change of about $9.50, for a 20oz bottle. At that point, took the change since I tried to help him but he didn't want it.

two houses ago we had a neighbourhood set of pink flamingos - they showed up for birthdays and wedding anniversaries and all kinds of occasions. Probably the best neighbourhood I ever lived in.

I remember going with my Grandmother in her Simca Aronde
to buy a couple of them. This was around 1960.
