Reminds me of someone I knew in college. We’d ask her hold our beers for a few minutes when they got warm… She did not appreciate the humor!!

My significant other brought home a pumpkin spice cheesecake last night.
When she asked how I liked it I told her that those are two great things that don't belong together.
The first bite was almost toxic, but I choked down the rest.

There was a message on the road condition sign on I581 -
" THE FAST LANE IS FOR PASSING<NOT CRUISING"
Unfortunately,there was no way to read it to the MORONS cruising there.

The modern equivalent to the Silex seems to be the siphon. You'll find them in Japanese coffee shops. They seem to be faster than the Silex in that they are single serving. You can also use a damp towel on the lower vessel to draw the coffee down faster. A really good cup of coffee, not bitter at all.
