I think this puts me over 20 on the Spridgets alone.

Excellent deal, Jeff.

I have found that I do best when I'm not looking.
In fact, someone told me about a car yesterday...I may look at it Friday.

A count of 20 Spridgets!

Man! You rule!!

Edit: I just saw Barry's post above....great minds think alike!

Hay Jeff, does one of those have a 948 that does not leak. LOL

Yes, but you wouldn't want that engine, Jack. Billet crank, Carillo rods, etc. Over 90 HP at the flywheel.
Actually, now that I think of it, that's the only running 948 I have at the moment. I've got a big crank 1098 that doesn't leak, too. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
Jeff

I am getting to the point where I hate folks that have engines that don't leak. This is going to be the death of me.

Well I am sorting out some other small items as I go along as well, like a pin hole in the sodering on the radiator.

Oh, that's ok then. We can get along in that case.

Heck come to think about it mine only leaks when it is running.

Jack if it makes you feel any better, the 1098 in my '63 leaks buckets!
I drove that engine about 30,000 miles further than I should have.
One of the intake lobes on the cam is almost completely wiped, but it still starts and runs.
Jeff

I this thing is going to be a leaker I am going to run the you know what out of it till it goes away.

You think you got it bad, I drove a 63 4dr Corvair for years. My freiends father use to [censored] himself, When I parked in front his house I'd put a cup under it and dump the oil back in before I left. I also drove it for a 16hr roundtrip to Canada with a blown head gasket. (3 brakes working there only two back. Scary!) Never stopped running though. Still those were the days...

Jeff, I'd be happy to take the front end on that parts car. My 62 still has front drums but has a 3/4" master.
Good find.

Dan, let me see what kind of shape the parts car is in first. It may be salvageable as a driver. Supposedly it runs.
These things are in Sterling Heights right now. (19 and Schoenherr)
I'm trying to get them home on Sunday.
Jeff

Closer to me than you. If you need a hand loading and tying down I'd be glad to help.

I'll keep that in mind, Dan. I should know by Friday afternoon how things are going to shake out.
I just wish my big trailer was empty. It's got a 6500# winch in the nose!
Jeff

Got a trailer lined up, but it's only an 18 footer. So, two trips starting at 9 Sunday morning.
Pictures as soon as I can.
Jeff

Geez Jeff, that's right by me! I'm at 18 and Van Dyke. How do these deals "find you"? That's where my Sprite was stored for three years till I got my own place - 19 and Scheonerr, at my brother's place.

Both of those cars look better than my "good" one! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

So, if one is being parted out, I could really use a set of *good* leaf springs. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif The driver's side on mine is fairly well shot.

(How are ya by the way? Been forever since I have been on here!)

Edit: annnnd, I just realized the last post on this thread was like 2 weeks ago! Wow I haven't been here in months! Sorry!

Man, if you have been gone for that long you have about 250 posts to read on one of Jack's threads! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif A must read for some great LBCing.

For sure, I'll be catching back up. Didn't have much of an opportunity to use/play with the Healey much in the past few months. Life and the budget got in the way. I think everyone on this forum has mentioned something to that effect at one time or another ;-)
