Max Hoffmann Biography

It seems that there would be no sport cars imported in the '50s without the hand of Max Hoffmann. Does anyone know if there is a biography of him? What about a detailed article about him? This man seems to pop up when ever sports cars in the '50s. Thanks
Les

A Max Hoffman bio appeared in the March 2006 issue of Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car,, page 76, in a column titled Visionaries. I remember waiting with frustration for the Hoffman organization to deliver a new driver-side door and front fender for my 1955 Porsche 1500 Super, which got whacked in Ohio, circa 1960.
