Maude RIP

I just saw that on the news. One of the greats - her Maude TV show in the 1970s brought so many aspects of modern life to the fore, both comic and dramatic.

I remember once seeing her do a walk-on role on All in the Family. She came to the front door of Archie's house, and when Edith brought her inside to see Archie, she looked at Archie and said:

"Well hello Archie - still fighting mental health I see."

What a talented actor.

The world of comedy has indeed lost one of its best!

Back in the day, I'd go to the CBS-TV network sponsored LA event in the spring when the next season shows were shown/previewed. The net always had the stars there and one year she sat at our dinner table (for 8). Really classy lady and wonderful dinner table companion.

She had a great dry wit and told it like it was. Just like a few people in this world need to be told today, but it wouldn't be "politically correct".

Her love was the stage. She will not be easily forgotten.

Nor usurped.

...at least her performances were largely archived.

Be at peace, Bea.
