matching speedo to rear end

So, fabmandan was gracious enough to give me some panels off his junk midget, as well as give me a good price on a 3.90 rear end.

My '68, obviously, has the 4.22 rear end.

What do I need to do so my speedo reads correctly? I looked in the moss catalog, and it looks like only 1 speedo drive gear is available. This leads me to believe I will need the proper speedometer out of a 3.90 equipped car.

Am I correct?

I know a guy who has a speedo from a 3.90 car.

Lol, I figured you wanted the whole thing in the dash

I don't want the dash. If you want the speedo stop by after work on Friday. It's not in the best of shape but it should work and it's all there.

Cool, I'll stop by and grab that on Fri - what time are you normally home? I could be there around 4:00 or so.

No worries on what shape it's in - worst cast I can swap all the aesthetic stuff from mine over to it.

Really, if you don't want the dash, I'll just take the whole thing off your hands. My tach acts a little funky at times, perhaps that one would work better.

But I think I need the tach. I'm going to put an alternator on my car, so no more cable drive.

Ah, OK, cool. I'll take the dash minus whatever you want

See ya around 4:00 on Friday
