TR2/3/3A Master Cylinder Re-build

I am rebuilding the MS on my 54 TR-2. On the brake side, there is a Valve Body, Valve Cup, and Valve Seat that fit on the end of the spring. My question is which direction does the Valve Cup fit? I assume the end with the hole fits through the Valve Seat facing rearward?

the Moss page that comes up when you search master cylinders has a good diagram. There is an important check valve that you did not mention. You want the edge of the rubber pressure cup facing the direction you want to push the fluid for braking and the flat back of the cup supported by the metal piston.

I have that Moss Fig 3 in front of me. I did mention this Check Valve. My question is the flat side of the valve is facing the valve body and the open end goes through the valve seat and faces the back of the MS.
 
I wasn't clear that you were asking about the check valve. I do not know the answer on the direction the check valve faces.

If you have a Moss catalog look at pg 32. Top of page look at brake side of double MC. Right behind 13 (valve body) 2 (valve cup). When it goes through 2 (valve seat) is the solid part of the valve cup facing the valve body or the back of the MC? Also check the TR Manual. valve cup is 8, is the solid part facing the spring or the back of the MC
 
I'm afraid that helps me as much as it is helping you. I'd have to see what the valve looks like to determine which way it goes. All I can tell you is the valve is supposed to give a slight restriction of the fluid in both directions, but it must also allow fluid to pass both directions.
