master cylinder pushrods sought

Anyone willing to part with a pair of pushrods for a 7/8" bore dual master? I swapped in a 7/8" in place of my trashed 3/4" and find myself in need of the proper pushrods. They are 4 3/16" long (compared to the 3 3/4" or so rods from a 3/4" bore MC).
I think I can order some from Moss but I'm so sick of paying the long dollar and shipping on little bits like this I thought I'd beg here first.

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to go to your local hardware store, buy a 5" long 5/16 coarse hexhead bolt and just cut off the head to the proper length?

Yes, I thought of that. Would they be strong enough? I think these rods are pretty hardened steel. Do they make the proper thread with a long enough shoulder or would I have to go to threaded rod and then would the threads wear on the dust boots (no big deal?) or the sides of the piston socket? Probably not.
I might try that anyway but ultimately I'd think it's easier to get the right rods, but I was hoping to avoid $30 for such simple things. Still, whatever it takes I guess.

If you get a "grade 8" sockethead cap screw ("Allen head bolt") and cut the head off with a grinder you will have the strongest bolt you could wish for. A grade 5 bolt is probably stronger than the original push-rod ever was!

I have a set that I took out of my 7/8" bore one but I measure them at 3 9/16", not the 4"+ ???

Weird
I'm going by this and fact that I know mine are too short.

My pedal stop (nub on the back of the pedal) hits the footwell wall before the piston makes any pressure, that's with my 3 11/16" rods maxed out on length.

Ah, my mistake... .mine are from the 3/4" bore used for disc brake cars... Please excuse me.. Brain F*rt!

I stopped by University Motors and they let me grub around in their stash. I came up with two that are longer. Interestingly John Twist was highly skeptical that there were indeed different length pushrods. Not sure he believed me even when I found what I wanted, had my old one in hand and there ya go.
Had to pay $11 for two grimy old pushrods but the patina on them will match nicely. So, hope to fit tonight and see where I'm at.
BTW, in anticipation of more "response" from the clutch slave when using the 7/8" bore MC, I went ahead and removed the nut that I put behind the slave pushrod last year.
Wish me luck.

Hehe, the nut for the win.
