Massive truck wreck

'Bout had me a heart attack while driving
Thurs morning on the expressway to the marina.

Slowing down to make my exit ramp when a dark blur and
a loud roar overtakes me. A very large truck has barely
passed me by when suddenly his front end lifts straight
up into the air, followed by the rock trailer, rotating
over onto it's side in slow motion and heading for the
concrete barrier into oncoming traffic. A large truck hits
the first truck. T tremendous cloud of rock dust erupts.

Grey Ghost snaps into 4X locked brakes, yours truly kissing
the steering wheel from the confines of my shoulder harness;
Too scared to fully comprehend the scene happening in front
of me. (nope- my shorts remained stain free!! barely.)

A tremendous load of rocks covers the width of the expressway.
Me and a few other guys jump out and head for the cab to
render help. Expressway now blocked by Grey Ghost, rocks and
big truck on it's side.

A bimbo, in her pretty gym outfit, is behind me (blocked of
course)and lays on her horn for me to get my Jeep out of the way and let her
pass. The bimbo keeps on her horn and gives us all nasty looks. Trucker
badly injured but paramedics arrived in under three minutes. I think he's OK.

Um, Dale.......didja ever consider livin' somewhere ELSE?! Wow, glad you were alright!

Maybe Tony Barnhill will chime in about how much
he enjoyed our drive thru THAT piece of the expressway.

And it was in the Grey Ghost as well.

I did not realize there was room on the island for trucks that size! Seriously, good to hear you are OK. And the Bimbo with the screaming me me's!

Did you know that Hawaii has Interstate Highways, so does Puerto Rico and Alaska, none of which connects to another state. On the other hand, Bimbo's are everywhere.

Is it still like the start of LeMans Coming out of the Airport?
I remember the last time I was there it was 10 -15 cars abreast at 50 -60 Miles an hour racing for poll postion on to the southbound (sud) freeway 4 lane man that was fun...
That was about the time I realized my rental car had no front brakes boy that knocked off the post 8 hour flight haze in my head!!

Love the drive from Ponce to Aracebo winding thru the mountains was way narrrow and way cool.

Imagine rush hour, in the most congested part of highway you can think of, at 60 MPH, with everyone high on crack! that's what it was like trying to drive in San Juan PR. Now add in this monolingual idiot (me) trying to interpret road signs in Spanish. By the end of the week I was starting to get the hang of it. Just in time to get on the plane and go home.
thank goodness you're OK Dale! that was close!
I had to slow down for deer 2 times on my way home tonight, in the fog, does that count for anything? hehehehe
