Mark Joslyn of Illinois - R.I.P.

Offline
I learned earlier this morning that Mark Joslyn of Champaign, IL passed away sometime on Saturday, May 9th, 2009.

I have not learned details, nor do I know of plans for services (if held).

I spent an hour or so with Mark a couple of weeks ago; his health had deteriorated a lot since I last talked with him.

Mark was active in the Champagne British Car Festival for years, as well as with the Central Illinois Triumph Owners Assn and the VTR. He also sold Anglo-related t-shirts, toys, etc at British car shows in the region through his small business, British Mark.

Please say a prayer for "British Mark" and keep his family in your thoughts...

Regards...

OMG! I am so sorry to hear that. Mark was a good (albeit mostly e-mail) buddy of mine for many years. I'd met up with him at a number of VTR National Conventions and chatted frequently, as he and I shared a passion for Triumph Sports 6s (he had three, as I recall).

If/when you get further details, please let me know. I would like to forward any information to VTR as well, if that hasn't already happened.

Just found this image:

Mark was also one of the first to encourage me to set up my Database web pages, which began with the Sports 6 and Herald cars (notably his cars).

Andy....would you e-mail the picture you attached to your post to me?

Thx.....and I'll keep the list informed should I learn of arrangements, etc.

Yep....Mark tried to "corner the market" on Sports-6's!

Rick, I linked to it from CITOA's web site. Right-click on it, and you should be able to save it; or copy the link as I did here.

There's also a nice picture of Mark on CITOA's home page.

Thanks...I already "borrowed" both of them...I was hoping for a little better resolution...but it's no big deal.

I did learn that services and burial will be in Clarinda, IA (Mark's home town)...I just don't know when.
