those are the bolt-on style mini-lites. I think Anna (Bina) has stock wire wheels. So the wheels would be like these:

if you get the bolt-on wheels then you'll have to change the rear axle, and front swivle axel assemblies. I'm sure there's more to changing between the two styles, but I just don't know what all that is.

You know this wheel business is very intresting.

Now I note that those with disc wheels wish they had spoke and those with spoke want minilights.

Can't you folks get together? Hehe. Sounds like a good excuse to run down someplace for the weekend and swap. Don't forget your tools.

eh... I like my disc wheels... let's me get the cheap mini-lite replicas... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

On a Mk I, I prefer the stamped steel wheels with the baby moon hubcaps.

Yeah, Janel... Those one's for sale on the other board are bolt on and won't go on your car without swapping the rear axle, and the front hubs.

Janel - Binabox has wires..you can't use bolt-on Minilites...yours won't be $600 for set, they'll be $600 apiece!

Lemme ask a question: how are you going to use her? In other words, what's the plan for her?

*thinks Dahubby might meet a little resistance on the mini-lite idea*

or at least made to give it serious reconcideration. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

yeah, they're expensive wheels, but certianly the amoung the coolest things to put on a LBC. More power to anyone that can afford to put them on their car just for street driving... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It should be pointed out that knockoff minilites are much heavier than their bolt-on counterparts. They weigh in around the same as 72-spoke heavy duty competition wire wheels.

Still, the cool factor and the vintage look more than outweigh the extra unsprung weight!

I'm gettin' to like you more 'n more Kenny.

Yeah, I'm likeable that way - lol. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Dahubby didn't wince at the cost of new chrome wires that our son is trying to talk us into. Not sure he'd flinch at the idea of spending $1500 on minilites either. Although it about makes me want to puke! I think this is DH's midlife crisis or something. So cost isn't much of a factor. I want her to LOOK good. And I get as many different opinions as answers, you know? I'll flip a coin, just like I did when I decided (okay fine, WE)on the color.

~bangs head on desk~

Well, if it truely is his MLC - just leave him alone & accept the outcome....hehehehe...sorta like those hot flashes!

Nope, never Tony. Never ever. He's got a $20,000+ bass boat that he can claim as entirely his!

And they are power surges my dear man, power surges.

Weren't those original on this year MGB?

They were standard from, I believe, 1962 through 1967 on both roadster and GT. Wire wheels were a more expensive option although most people did opt for them.

Wow..that Mark I roadster pic posted by kennypinkerton looks amazing. What size are those wheels (14" or 15") - I'm trying hard to decide which size minilites I should go for...I can't decide which ones look better - and the set in that pic look great...also does anyone know what brand (minotaur etc.)?

Oh good grief, now I have to factor in different sizes and brands!??

Most of the brands look the same. Not sure the size of the wheels in the pic I posted... I linked it from Skye's site - under Journals. He's gonna want to kill me over the bandwidth. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif But someone there may know the size based on that person's name.
