Hello all,
The 2.5 V8 Daimler may have a marginal performance advantage over the 2.4 Mk 2, but that really is not saying a lot. The other disadvantage of the Daimler is that the majority were made with automaiic transmission. It certainly is a good engine, however and the 4.5 litre version in the Majestic Major certainly gave that very large car a respectable performance but not approching the 3.8 Mk 2 or probably even the 3.4 version. I can't think, offhand, of any quicker 4\5 seat saloon that could match the 3.8 Mk 2 when they were first introduced.
