I have a series 2 XJ coupe with a very tired auto transmission. I am preparing to pull the drivetrain so as to rebuild the engine and repair/replace the transmission. I am seriously considering installing a 5 speed manual. The actual transmission replacement is not the problem as I am aware of at least two possible options.
But what would greatly assist the project is finding a "pedal cluster" containing both brake and clutch pedals. My hope is that series 2 cars were made with manual transmissions and that the pedal assembly could be swapped with my brake only pedal.
My question:
Are there clutch/brake pedal assemblies available that will fit my series 2 with minimal modifications and if so, from where?
