Wedge Manual TR8

Help me find a TR8 manual . I have googled them but don't really know what is the best.

I have an original shop maunual I beleive. I used it to rebuild my 8 when I was just a wee little LBC novice years ago. I have always meant to scan it and offer it to those who might need it. I think since Triumph is gone there should be no copy rights to infringe on (opinions on this?). It would be teadious and time consuming since it is nearly 300 pages. If there is anything in particual you are looking for I can scan the appropiate pages for you.

You can get the Workshop Manual, Owner's Manual, and Parts books all on one CD from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. VB sells them for $30/each.

Be warned though, they're encumbered with retarded DRM software, which means you can only use them under Windows and can't save them to your computer or back up the CD.

I've got the Spitfire and TR3/4/250 ones and they're pretty useful. And being a computer guy, it wasn't that hard to figure out how to break the DRM.

I purchased a new laptop to use with my shop manuals on disk. Odd thing is that only about half seem to work with the vista operating system. I could have saved my money.

I sometimes have access to an automatic-feed scanner here at work. If you are willing to have it cut into individual pages, I could possibly scan it and send you back both the pages and a CD with a PDF file.
I've been slowly doing that with my other Triumph manuals, and I must say I really like the results. Acrobat also offers an OCR function (although I haven't completely sussed out the best way to use it), so the result can be made text-searchable.

But when I'm working on the car, it's nice to be able to print a few relevant pages and take them to the garage with me, without worrying if they get greasy or damaged.

Being a wedge novice ,all of it.

I've seen the ones on disc, that is fine for my office but for the garage i like paper best.

Keep those cards and letters coming

I don't have an autofeeder and it seems like there might be some interest in it. This is a test of confidence.... I have practicallly slept with this manual under my pillow out of fear of losing it....

PM if you really feel like you want to take on this task and I will stick it in the mail. The first few pages were torn and are now held together by tape so you may have to manually load them.

How many people would be interested in a copy of this?

Can someone send me the pages on Clutch slave and master R&R.
Thanks

What do you have in mind,
I was hoping someone has the disk and can email me the pages. I was looking at the pedal assembly. Did they use the TR4&6 pedal box on the wedges?

Well, if someone could get the images into pdf and email them to me I'll burn and mail CD's at cost. That sort of thing....

I was just looking the other day at the various random original LBC documents that come up on ebay for not too much money, and thought it would be a decent service to buy them up and scan them in for everybody to have access to. In fact I bought an original Spitfire Mk3 spare parts book for that very purpose. I was also bidding on a Spitfire Mk1 "overseas sales guide" but was beat out on that one.

I was going to put my documents up on britishcar.org, and would be happy to do the same with any others people wanted to send me. I don't know who owns the copyrights on such things or if they'd care, but I figured I'd give it a shot and just take down anything that anybody complains about.

So nobody already has the repair manual on CD. I thought somebody said they did.

Just sent you an email Donn. Hope it doesn't crash your server. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

The TR6 and TR8 pedal boxes are different. Look similar but are not.
