Spitfire Manifold for '79 Spit?

Need to replace as it is cracked in half, pretty much impossible to weld.

Headers are a possibility, ant ideas?
Thanks, Simon.

Take a look at the European 1500 exhaust, Quantumechanics imports them. I have been thinking about doing this to my Herald.

This is the stock setup as used on the 1500 Spitfires in Europe. This is a direct replacement for the USA setup. It consists of a good used European spec cast iron exhaust manifold, new tubular twin downpipe, new copper flange gasket and new intake/exhaust manifold gasket. This improves power by 10% to 20%, similar to a header. This will work on all Spitfire 1300 eight port heads and Spitfire1500. If used with the stock single Stromberg carb, the Stromberg intake manifold must be modified to clear the larger center branches of the cast iron manifold. This will not work with the downdraft Weber carb. This manifold is superior to the USA in that it does not crack and improves power. $150.00 + 40.00 Shipping in the USA.

Be warned the European exhausts will NOT work with the single Z-S intake manifold. BTDT with the Bell 4-2-1 header on Jerseygirl's car. I talked to QM at Carlisle about the Euro OE manifold and John confirmed those won't work with the Z-S either.

Cast iron can be welded reliably, but you need to find an experienced welder to do it.

Mmm, don't know about that. The Lincoln Softweld 55Ni should do the weld itself just fine. No special skills or equipment necessary.

When I broke my 77 manifold I purchase a 71-74 cheaply($20). I then replaced the exhaust from the manifold to the muffler. I removed the catalytic converter.

I think the manifold(ebay) and pipe(new) were around $85 plus shipping.

No fit issues. We later installed dual HS4's. Again no fit issues.
