Hi All,

Just want to thank this website and all that keep it going!

I took a nice Sunday drive with my wife this past weekend. Drove the first 50 miles, and the car ran great! Luckily we were on our way back home, at that point we had driven about 75 miles, when the car started to sputter and act like it was out of gas. On occasion the tach would bounce up and down as if I was accelerating and then letting off the gas. By the time we turned into our street, I had to drive with 2 feet, between gas, brake and clutch. Pulled into our driveway, and the engine died! In summary, it was like it was running on only 2 or 3 cylinders.

After scanning posts on this site, I bumped into a post about condensers on the Mallory dual point distributors being defective. Went to AutoZone today and replaced the condenser. Started the engine and it ran perfectly. I would have never guessed that that little condenser could cause such havoc.

Thank You!
Bob
