Called Jeff at Advanced Distributor and got everything lined up for my dizzy rebuild. Nice that he knows Hap's recipes -- just had to tell him it was for a hot Hap-built 1275, and he knows what to do. Prices seem very reasonable as well.

Next call was to APT for header and exhaust. Went with their EXL9 street header (Maniflow) and the matching exhaust. Talked to a nice chap named David with a Brit accent.

That's the last of the big purchases for this engine swap. Next task is to draw up the list for Tony of all the small bits I need to finish the brake swap and fuel system rebuild. Sun is out (though it's only 16*), so my thoughts are turning towards spring. Woohoo! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Nice one Drew!
Can't wait to see pics of the Hap motor.
Jeff should have my dizzy as well by now, thanks for the tip.

Speaking of Timing MArks the other day. I got this note back from Jeff re. the Timing Mark Pointer Kit here is now selling

Jim, I have them for the 1275, and the A-series IF it has the big balancer rather than just a pulley. The set is $20 including a pointer that's zinc plated rather than black as shown, a timing tape, an alcohol swab, and complete instructions.

A simple setup and worth the $20 he wants for the kit. No more crawling underneath the engine to try to set up timing.

Can't wait to get Drew and Ray's 1275s either, because that would mean I done with the MGB race motor I'm building, now, on my third block before I got a good one, the second one was bored before I detected it being bad, crack on the oil pan rail (bummer). After big ole heavy MGB blocks, I'm looking forward to a couple of lighter A- series block to work with /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I had Jeff rebuilt my Eurospec Dist in my MGB and also a 25D for my Bugeye. He does excellent work and his prices are VERY reasonable. I also bought the timing pointer kit for my MGB, I'll be installing it this springtime. it sure will be nice not to have to get under the car to set the timing.

I just got back a TD dizzy and it's flawless. When I sent it to him, it was s rusted seized mess. Amazing what he did with it and a his communication via email was spot on.

Jeff did one for my '63 Midget that's beautiful...he also did a generic MGB one for me to put on my shelf as an extra!
