Anyone going (or have gone) to these?

We're planning on going to the NYC event, but they meet all over N. America and the UK. Sort of a mix between FIRST Robotics and a Steam Punk concert.

I only see three American events listed there, and nothing near me, looks like it would be a fun event to hang out at, unfortunately nothing exciting ever happens here...
