Major Canadian shows coming up

There are a number of large Canadian British car shows coming up in different regions, they are within a days drive (or less) and well worth coming up for...

Here in Calgary (Alberta) next weekend is the European Field Meet, for those in car-show-starved areas of the United States (Montana, Idaho, etc...) would make a nice weekend trip. The show is on Saturday the 11th. Further information here... https://www.vsccc.ca/ (under "events")

On the west coast there is the English Car Affair in the Park near Victoria, B.C. (Vancouver Island) on the 11th and 12th. This is one of two large car events out there and only a short distance - as the crow flys - from large centres in the pacific NW, you just have to allow for ferry travel to Vancouver Island. More information here... https://www.oecc.ca/sib.htm

And out east near Toronto is the Bronte Creek British Car Day on the 19th. It is only about a five hour drive from Detroit and perhaps an hour drive from Buffalo, there are usually lots of cars in from the States for this show. It always has well over 1,000 cars and is likely the largest all-British show in North America. For more info... https://www.britishcarday.com/

So Sherlock are we going to see you at the Calgary show on Saturday? Keep your eyes open for the "Two Terrible 2's".

Had a great time at the Calgary show, (although the drive down was a little nasty) Lots of TR's, Jags, Healey's, and MG's. Large group of Porche's, BMW's and a bunch of Italian
go fast cars. Afternoon weather and hospitality were perfect. Met a couple of fellow posters in Sherlock and 78Z.
All and all a GRRRREAT day. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Are there any BCFers planning to be at British Car Day in Burlington?
I hope to be there. Just look for the white '80 Spitfire with only one seat!

Hey, Mark
Did you get the O/D Tranny in yet?
I missed last year because of a major engine disaster, and this year I am schedled to work Sat. night and Sun. night, 7pm to 7am, but.... I think I feel some sickness creaping up. If I make it, though, it will be in the Explorer, not the TR7. We can just keep going and take #1 daughter back to University.
If there, I will keep an eye out for your 1 seater.
(supposed to be sunny and warm.)

Paul

Heard some reports back about Bronte Creek (Oakville) this year, heard it was probably the best year yet with record attendance...

Wished I could have been there (spoken from the land of few and small British/import shows) Anyone take any pictures?

Hi Sherlock! It was a very successful day, perfect weather and excellent turnout. I worked on registration for about 3 hours, my wife longer. Normally about 15-20% of those who pay to get in do not register to have their cars voted on, and we handed out 986 registration packages so I would guess 1150-1200 cars , motorcycles and buses.
You would have enjoyed the saloon cars, Rovers P3,4 and 5,
1950's Austin Westminster, Morris Oxford, Mk.2 Cortina, 1926 Austin 7, Vauxhall Victor (FD?)etc.
Simon.

Congratulations to the organizers, it was a fabulous day again this year at Bronte! Was it my imagination or were there a few more vendors this year?
