So after a week of playting phone tag, I made an offer of $5000 on the following TR8.

The dealer told me if the car is still around by next week then its mine. The car is rust free, but looks to need a lot of sorting out (thanks Kevin for checking the car over). Good deal? Still too much? It's probably true that if I could find a restored or very clean CA car that passes smog then I could probably save $ in the long run.
 
Larry, are you married. You can't be and have a 1. TR6, 2. a TR4 half finished, and 3. trying to get a TR8 that needs "sorting out". We all know what sorting out means.

Holy cow this sounds familar... two kids and my ex ran off with a cop then(left him for an insurance sales man then him for a bouncer then him for a Army SGT, then him for a married Doc, then him for a financial guy then now a dentist I think). She got the house and the back account, I got the kids and the debt. My therapy when the kids went to spend their two week-ends a month was my 8. Spend lots for time therapy-izing with my 8. 10 years later I have 2 beautiful teenangers and my 8, she has 2 more ex's, no house and no real realationship with even her own kids. Sucks to be her. Glad to see other dads stepping up for thier kids
