New speedometer in, seats in, harness in, steering wheel in, belts tightened, hoses checked, fluids topped up, gasoline in, grease points greased, valves checked, handbrake adjusted. Package of SU parts arrived from Joe C, just about to head out the door for a cruise around the block and the wife comes home bearing gifts from Taco Bell.
All momentum immediately ceased. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif
So, test drive and putting the bonnet back will on have to wait.
76* and sunny as well. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif

Maňana my friends. Maňana.

Re: Ma?ana.

That's what we like to hear. Let us know how it goes.

Re: Ma?ana.

That close to 'goal' and you stop for FastFood?!?!

...sheesh... no self-discipline left! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Re: Ma?ana.

Man, it is nice out and I envy you. I spent several hours applying fiberglass to some areas that need it. I use bondo but very sparingly. I prefer glass to build up where the metal don't meet good.

Re: Ma?ana.

AHA!
80* and sunny tomorrow. I'll be either cruisin the streets by noon, or crying in the forum that something went horribly wrong!

Re: Ma?ana.

Well???????

Re: Ma?ana.

Excuse #1.....
I did drive her this morning, round the sub division just at sun-up (still sans bonnet), throttle cable came loose half way up the hill.
Excuse #2......
Trying to get those grosse jets out and the new float needles in.
Excuse #3......
Wife has a hangover so I took care of her and the child this am, cutting into my scheduled tie-rod replacement time.

Long story short, it moves, very well, through all gears, nothing above 4k yet. Horn doesn't work, brush doesn't line up with the connector behind the hub, I'll move the airhorns from the B and put them on a separate switch.
The 'new' speedo does exactly the same thing as the old one. It had a new cable too, so I'm guessing it's the angle drive. Grrr.

I'm happy with it, very happy in fact, it appears to be more peppy and responsive now the dynamic timing is dialed in; still rich but she moves.
Couple more hours work, call the insurance company....look out!

Re: Ma?ana.

WOOHOO!!

Re: Ma?ana.

Alright. Nothing like a good drive around the block.
