Lumber prices

The lid of our Whirlpool washer had started to drop when loading, having hit Peg on the head a few times. Whirlpool sent a person who fixed that a few years ago. But in the last year the frame of the lid cracked and would not lock. Weights had to be put on top of it to get the unit to latch and run. We were not sure if it would continue to run every time we loaded it up.

Yes, saved an expensive house-call.
Sears would not replace just the bearings - they wanted too replace the entire drum! In fact Sears doesn't sell the bearings separately - I had to go third party.

A lot of the new washers and dryers have WiFi so they will call home and report you if you mess with them. I blocked our washer from the router so it can't call out.
Don't want unexpected washing powder deliveries from amazon.

I was once at a Home Depot when my data plan was about to go over the limit, so I logged onto an LG refrigerator. :p
As for a washer and dryer wi-fi, I'd be concerned about one of those appliances accessing my bank-account or looking at porn.

#1 Dad joke - fridge - 'just chillin''

#2 Washer - good chance they would clean you right out.

😁

I tried to look up "slutty washer" for images of what I thought would be funny washing machine pics for this thread based on the comment above... no washing machines popped up and I now have to clear my internet history.

Hehehe... but what about slutty dryers? They're the worst.

The ones to worry about are the photos where the door is just cracked and you "think" you can see something inside the fridge or washer. It's that imagination thing....

Was just reading that STEEL has tripled in price too.

And I heard this morning on the radio news that with things opening back up tattoo parlors are backed up and turning people away and this has many charging a lot more. I'm actually glad to have grown up in a generation that didn't really see the need for ink, much less lots of it, as a way to express themselves.

I'm with you Mike, I agree 100%. I think it's pretty much a fad at the moment, hope they realize they're difficult to remove. I will say that some of the tattoo artists are very talented.

No ink, my "self-expression" is limited to t-shirts. That way if I change my opinion I can just change shirts. And it's a lot less discomfort.

You're right that many are indeed talented artists. And what someone else want to do to themselves I wouldn't say no. But I do wonder about those who get ink on their faces for example or folks I've see that have spent 1000s doing their arms, torsos and who knows what else. Saw a young fellow at a homecoming game once that had a winged skull on his throat with the wings wrapping around up his face and meeting over his eyes. Probably made for interesting interviews when looking for a job...

If you get a face tattoo, might as well shut down that LinkedIn account... the one body mod that people get that I'll never understand are the massive pucs in your ear lobes that stretch them way out.

I’ve got a great tattoo joke but if I posted it I’d be banished for life (and maybe longer ;) ) from the BCF.

No ink here or interest - but did you see the article about the tatto this woman got just before the lockdown.
