Hello

After various problems and lack of time the 100-6 is finally running and driving on the road again. I made the first ride yesterday for approx 20 miles without problems. However today there were some issues. One with fuel supply for which i will open another thread and tis one about the electrics.

As it was becoming dark i noticed, that the parking lights and rearlights didn't work. Strangely enough the headlights did. When I parked the car ( the light switch was off but the ignition still on. The rearlights started to burn. Even when i took the inition key off the lights kept burning. I have switched off the master switch to "stop"the lights burning.

Are there any ideas what the problem could be and how to solve it

Harry

Since the power for the lights doesn't run through the ignition switch the position of the key is irrelevant. I would double-check the wiring at the light switch first and even the switch itself. Use a continuity tester to make sure the three positions of the switch are indeed working as they should.

Harry--

I'm reading into your first paragraph that you have recently done some substantial work on the car. Perhaps some new wire connections were made and/or old ones changed but I would look at the components you worked on and see if they lead you to where things might be astray. This is probably not a Lucas issue.

Having recently installed a new wiring harness, I cannot recommend Tom's large color wiring diagrams too highly! They make this kind of troubleshooting relatively easy!
Tom's Import Toys, that is.

Did the wiring harness smoke? If it did don't forget to top it up with genuine Lucas smoke! image.jpeg
