Lubricating a new BJ8 water pump

I've just installed a new water pump on my '67 BJ8. In several different on-line notes I've read that pump lubrication should be "minimal" but with no explanation of that term. And I don't see a traditional lubrication fitting or "screw" of any type. I do see two (?) small openings in the water pump body though. Is this where grease shold be applied? How much? And is there any sort of good technique to get the grease to the proper location inside? How often should a water pump be lubricated?
 
Just use a good coolent and you will be OK

All the new pumps I've seen have sealed bearings and require no lubrication (besides what's in the coolant as Keoke pointed out, which lubricates the seal). The holes are weep and/or inspection holes (if you inspect and see coolant weeping time for a new pump).
